Geronimo children’s festival 2016

I am proud to announce that my family and I have been chosen to be a Geronimo festival ambassadors and that this year we will be attending our first family festival.

Following the great success of the very first festival last year, Geronimo festival is back and it is bigger and better than ever. The festival will be returning to its original home at Tatton park in Cheshire and for the first time is going to be held at its new second home Harewood House, just outside Leeds.

Both these amazing event will be held on the 2 bank holiday weekends in May, with Harewood house on 1st – 2nd May and Tatton park on 29th – 30th May.

This year holds the most unbelievable and exciting up line so far, with none other than Justin Fletcher (AKA Mr Tumble) from Something special, Justin’s house and Gigglebiz. Who will be headlining the festivals main stage on the Sunday at each venue Harewood house 1st May and Tatton park 29th May.

As an avid watching of Something Special, I must admit I don’t know who is more excited about actually seeing Mr Tumble LIVE, me or the kids.

Oh, who am I kidding it’s clearly me!

As well as the fantastic Justin Fletcher, there is tons of other CBeebies stars such as;

Mr Bloom

Who will be performing at the Geronostage Zone and you can pop along for catchy song, veggie stories and gardening games. It’s will be fun for parents and toddlers alike.

Andy Day

Will be performing his Dino Rap show which is filled with amazing tales of adventure and mysterious lands from far away.

Rebecca Keatley

From ‘Let’s Play’, she will be hosting lots of crazy super hero fun in a hilarious live music show that is filled with fun, singing, dancing and props.

Swashbuckle

Who will be taking us on a dip roaring pirate adventure that is interactive and energetic as well as full of song and slap stick comedy. It will be loved by kids of all ages.

Alex Winters

The Cbeebies present will be hosting The main stage each day and will also spending time doing meet and greets for all his fans.

There is so much more for the family to enjoy in all the different zones and with all the fun activities that will be held. I know my family are going to have and amazing time, specially P and the hubby, who will be diving straight at the Adrenaline zone, where only the bravest adventurers will be challenged with tree climbing, den building and even a zip line which reach speeds of 60MPH! I’ll be lucky if I get them out of there.

I am sure once I tell them about the live displays perform by the motorbike team and the falconry show they will be eager to explore and take everything in.

Despite its name the Library zone will be noisy, as you can go along and join in with the gigantic drumming session and my girls will love the Frozen singalong. If you fancy busting some moves or shaking your groove thing, you can also take Bollywood or Zumba dance classes and show everyone your moves. I just hope my Hubby doesn’t start ‘Dad Dancing’.

The Circus zone is where there will be an amazing circus show, which I am really excited to go see. I know the kids will be wanting to ride the donkeys and Shetland ponies in the Pasture zone, where crocodile joe will be hosting his reptile show and where he will have the world’s largest collection of giant Tortoises.

There is also a 3ft and under zone for the smaller ones like Little Miss, so she can go and explore with Tumble Tots, have a ride on a balance bike or even have a little boogie in baby ballet. It is simply a place where parents with little ones can let them have a bit of freedom and they can join in with out the worry of them getting knocked over by a larger child. But if it is all a bit too much or it’s getting close to nap time, why not try chilling out with some relaxing baby yoga.

That’s not all, they have loads of other amazing zones for the kids to go and experience such as the Fairground zone which has an old fashioned helter skelter, carousel and steam powered swing chairs. Woodland zone where kids can make mud pies and fairy potions, they can learn to make carrot whistles and older kids can have a go on the high ropes course or strap on a helmet and go on the mountain bike course. Funky Junk zone has face painting, woodwork, hair braiding and totem pole making plus so much more.

Basically there is something for everyone a Geronimo festival and you are bound to have an amazing time. I know we will.

Geronimo festival is aimed at children aged 2-12 and is a great day out for the family over the May Bank holiday weekends.

This sounds like it’s going to be so much fun! Im not sure where you are located, but if this was an event that was close to us, we would definitely be attending! Thanks for describing it so well.

After missing last year’s we’re going with my best friend and her son and making a weekend of it staying at hers in Manchester. Looking forward to it…especially the ‘heater smelter’!

AHH you know… I’ve never been to a festival and I’d love to go, but with Pickle on the way, a family festival like this sounds PERFECT for us. I can’t wait to hear all about it once you’ve been and maybe we’ll have to check it out next year when Pickle will be about a year old. Exciting! I’m sure by then, I’ll also know many more children’s TV stars as the list of names means nothing ot me at the moment!

  5. Emma says:

Wow, I bet your kids will absolutely love it! I know my nephews would! My two eldest are probably a little too big sadly, and my baby’s too young… Maybe next year! 🙂

Congrats on being selected as an ambassador! I’ve never heard of family festivals before, but they sound pretty amazing! We live in a time where everyone is always head down in some kind of electronic so it’s nice to hear their are events suitable for the entire family that will allow them to spend a whole together free from personal devices!
